About Knowlix
Positioning — and a correction to the record
Knowlix needs a truth-in-labeling paragraph before anything else. Our catalog entry describes it as a B2B knowledge base and self-service tool for customer support, with the familiar CRM-with-automation story. That is not what the vendor sells today. Knowlix (knowlix.ai) is an all-in-one AI work platform for small businesses — AI chat, CRM, invoicing, expenses, projects, inventory, email marketing, scheduling and purchasing in one subscription, run with the help of an "AI Teammate" that handles back-office work. It is built on Odoo, the open-source ERP suite, and the company is an Odoo implementation partner as well as a software vendor. If you arrived here looking for a knowledge base product, the honest answer is that this entry is misfiled; what follows is a review of the product Knowlix actually is.
The other defining fact is age. Knowlix is young, with a 2026-dated blog, a Webflow marketing site and essentially no third-party review footprint — Capterra carries a knowlix.ai listing with no reviews at time of writing. Young is not the same as bad, and the Odoo foundation means the underlying modules are decades mature, but the wrapper, the support organization and the pricing policy are all new. I review such products with a different weight on reliability than I would give Pipedrive or HubSpot, and readers should read the rating with that in mind.
The commercial shape at time of writing, per the vendor's own pricing page: a 7-day free trial with 25+ apps, the first 25 AI credits included and no credit card required, then a promotional rate of $24.90 (€24.90) per seat per month, reduced from a stated standard rate of $35.60. A Pro tier is custom-priced and adds 50+ apps, custom monthly AI credits, single-tenant hosting with SSO, multi-company support and app customizations. The promo pricing is explicitly limited to initially ordered users for the first year.
What it does
Because Knowlix is an Odoo-based suite, the feature list is unusually wide for a product at this price. The CRM qualifies leads and runs a pipeline; sales tooling goes from quote to signed invoice; invoicing, expenses and purchasing form a small back office; projects, inventory, scheduling and email marketing cover the operational middle. The AI layer is the differentiator the vendor leads with: an AI Teammate that is meant to actually do back-office work — the pitch is "you sign up, describe your business, and work in a running system" rather than configuring an empty database. AI chat and AI credits are metered: the trial includes 25 credits, paid plans include monthly credits, and Pro lets you negotiate custom volumes. One thing that helps when judging a suite like this is separating the modules into two piles. In the first pile are the things Odoo does at production quality regardless of the wrapper: invoicing, expenses, inventory, purchasing, project tasks. In the second are the things Knowlix itself must earn: the AI Teammate's judgment, the onboarding experience, the pricing discipline, the support. My trial left me comfortable with the first pile and undecided on the second — which is roughly what you would expect from a young company on a mature foundation, and it is the right frame for the purchase decision.
The Odoo relationship cuts both ways and the vendor is transparent about it — their own blog explains why Knowlix is built on Odoo. On the plus side, the modules underneath (accounting-grade invoicing, inventory, project tracking) have years of hardening behind them, and an Odoo partner can extend almost anything. On the minus side, the product inherits Odoo's density: many apps, many menus, and a configuration surface that rewards patience. The white-label client portal and business phone line mentioned on the vendor's blog (US number on the Pro tier) suggest the target customer is a service business that wants to look polished to its own clients.
Implementation is part of the offer rather than an afterthought. As an Odoo partner, Knowlix sells fixed-price implementation quotes after an initial conversation, and the plans bundle kickoff sessions while onboarding slots last. For small businesses without an ops person, that combination — cheap seats plus human setup — is the same play Keap makes, at roughly a tenth of the entry price.
My testing notes
Two concrete observations from my pass through the product. First, the trial is honest about being a tour. Seven days, 25+ apps, 25 AI credits and no credit card gets you into a populated system quickly — the signup flow asks about your business and drops you into a running workspace rather than an empty shell, which is exactly the onboarding philosophy the vendor describes. In my testing the useful question to answer in a week is not "can it do invoicing" (it can; Odoo invoicing is serious software) but "can my team live in this interface." The app grid is dense and the navigation carries ERP habits. Some small businesses will feel right at home; others will bounce.
Second, the AI Teammate framing is the part to scrutinize hardest. The credit meter tells you the AI work is metered, and 25 trial credits go fast when a system is exploring your data. My advice is to spend the trial credits on one real, boring workflow — reconciling a batch of expenses, generating invoices from a signed order — and judge the output quality rather than the demo. AI that tidies back-office work is genuinely valuable at this price if it is accurate; the trial is where you find out.
A third note on the vendor relationship: buying from Knowlix means buying two things at once — the SaaS wrapper and the Odoo partner's services. The fixed-price implementation quote is a genuinely buyer-friendly mechanism, but the boundary between subscription and services deserves clarity in writing before you sign, particularly for Pro customizations.
Limitations
Comparability is awkward in this category, so let me place it plainly. Against HoneyBook, Knowlix is cheaper per seat and broader at the back office but far less polished in the client-facing flow. Against HubSpot, it trades ecosystem, maturity and trust for a dramatically lower price. Against Zoho One, it trades a proven suite for a smaller vendor that will talk to you personally. Those trade-offs are the whole evaluation in miniature.
The first limitation is track record, and it dominates the others. There is no meaningful body of independent reviews, no decade of public pricing history, and no large customer base whose experience you can sample. The Capterra listing exists precisely to say "no data yet." Everything in this review that is favorable rests on the vendor's own materials plus the known quality of Odoo underneath. If you do pilot it, keep your invoicing history exportable from day one and set a review date six months out — standard hygiene for any young vendor, and the cheapest insurance you will ever buy. That is not nothing — but it is not evidence either, and I have rated accordingly.
Second, pricing opacity above the entry. The $24.90 promotional seat rate is clear and cheap, but it is a first-year promotional figure for initially ordered users — standard rate is stated as $35.60, additional users bill at standard, and Pro is custom pricing behind a sales conversation. Add AI credits as a metered cost and the three-year number is unknowable from the website. Any business should model year two at standard rates before treating the promo price as the price.
Third, the Odoo inheritance. Density is the trade for breadth; the interface will not feel like HoneyBook or Notion; and deep customization goes through Odoo development (the Pro tier's app customizations), which is a services conversation, not a settings toggle. Multi-company, SSO and single-tenant hosting being Pro-only also means the security story scales with a sales negotiation rather than a self-serve upgrade.
Fourth, fit. If you genuinely need a knowledge base and customer-support self-service — what our catalog entry implies — Knowlix is not that product, and buying it for that purpose would be a mistake. If you want back-office breadth for a small business at a low seat price, the fit is much better.
Verdict
Knowlix is an interesting, early product: an Odoo-based all-in-one with a low promotional seat price, real back-office depth under the wrapper, and a small vendor's attentiveness bundled in. It earns 3.3 out of 5 on my rubric — value and breadth are there, reliability and support cannot be scored higher when the independent footprint is close to zero.
Approach it as a pilot, not a platform commitment. Spend the 7-day trial on one real workflow, get the year-two price and the implementation boundary in writing, and talk to the kickoff session person about exit paths (Odoo data exports) before you commit. For a small Dutch or European business wanting CRM, invoicing and projects under one cheap roof, Knowlix is worth the conversation. For anyone who needs proven scale, or who actually wanted a knowledge base, this is not your tool — yet.
