Why look for an Outreach alternative

Outreach earned its position as the reference sales execution platform for enterprise revenue teams, but three things push buyers to look elsewhere, and I have seen all three in real evaluations.

The first is cost. Outreach publishes no per-user price — every package on its pricing page ends in "Request pricing" (checked October 2026). What we do have is third-party contract data: Vendr reports a median Outreach contract of $45,600 per year across 919 purchases, ranging from roughly $8,700 to $215,000, with onboarding fees of $5,000–$25,000 and annual escalators of 3–7% often built into renewals. That is a serious line item, and it is hard to justify for a 10-person sales team that mainly needs sequencing and dialling.

The second is the pricing model itself. Since moving to its Amplify packages, Outreach charges per seat plus consumption-based AI credits — 10,000 credits in Essentials up to 100,000 in Pro. Credits are consumed by everyday actions such as research runs, personalization, and forecasting, so your bill now depends on how much the AI gets used. Extra credit packs are purchasable but unpriced publicly. Finance teams dislike a meter they cannot forecast.

The third is packaging. Multi-channel sequences only appear from Amplify Core upward; forecasting and territory management sit in Pro. If your reps need different capabilities, you end up mixing packages at mixed price points. Add implementation weight — this is a platform you configure for months — and smaller or faster-moving teams start wondering whether they are paying for a command centre when they need a good toolkit.

None of this makes Outreach bad. It makes it expensive and heavy for a large slice of the market.

The alternatives compared

I evaluated the alternatives on five criteria: what a rep can actually do on day one without implementation, transparent published pricing versus quote-only, depth of core functions (sequencing, calling, pipeline, forecasting), how the cost scales per seat, and how honest the trade-offs are. Every price below is at time of writing from the vendor's own pricing page where one exists. The picks stay inside sales execution, pipeline, and adjacent categories — a mix of full platforms and focused tools that solve the Outreach problem differently.

Apollo.io

Apollo.io is a sales intelligence and engagement platform: a contact database of hundreds of millions of records with built-in sequences, dialling, and email. Where it genuinely beats Outreach is the combination of data and price. There is a free plan, and paid tiers run $49 (Basic), $79 (Professional), and $119 (Organization) per user per month on annual billing — around $65/$99/$149 billed monthly, with a three-seat minimum on Organization. Credits meter data access: one credit reveals an email, a phone number costs eight, and the US dialler runs two credits per minute. For a team whose main Outreach use case is "find prospects, sequence them, call them," Apollo does the same job at a fraction of the cost, and the database is genuinely good.

Switch if you want prospecting data and multichannel sequences in one affordable tool and can live without enterprise deal management. Stay if you need deep forecasting, deal coaching, conversation intelligence with automated scoring, or governance controls — Apollo's pipeline and reporting depth is not close to Outreach's. At time of writing, per apollo.io/pricing.

GoHighLevel

GoHighLevel is the agency-oriented all-in-one: CRM, funnels, websites, SMS, email, booking, and reputation management, priced flat rather than per seat — $97/month Starter (up to three sub-accounts), $297/month Unlimited, $497/month Agency Pro, with unlimited users and contacts on the upper tiers. For an agency running client pipelines, or a small business that wants marketing automation plus CRM without per-seat math, the value per dollar is hard to beat, and the SaaS-mode reselling on Agency Pro is a genuinely different business model from anything Outreach offers.

Switch if you run an agency or a small business that needs funnels, SMS campaigns, and pipelines together and is fine with a tool that does many things at a good level. Stay if you need enterprise sales execution discipline — revenue forecasting, account planning, relationship maps, coaching analytics. GoHighLevel's depth per feature is shallower, and its interface shows the "everything" ambition. At time of writing, per gohighlevel.com/pricing-info.

Close

Close is a sales CRM built around communication: calling, SMS, and email are native rather than bolted on, with a Power Dialler on Growth and a Predictive Dialler on Scale. Pricing is published and per seat: Solo $9, Essentials $35, Growth $99, and Scale $139 per user per month on annual billing (roughly $19/$49/$109/$149 monthly), plus phone usage credits and bundled AI credits for its Chloe assistant. For a small-to-mid outbound team — the classic 5–30 seat engagement team — Close covers sequencing, calling, and pipeline in one bill that finance can predict, and reps genuinely like working in it.

Switch if you want an all-in-one communication CRM with transparent pricing and quick setup. Stay if you are an enterprise needing multi-quarter forecasting, territory management, or coaching at scale — Close is a rep tool, not a revenue operating system. Note that heavy calling teams should budget for phone credits on top of seats. At time of writing, per close.com/pricing.

Pipedrive

Pipedrive is the visual pipeline CRM — clean deal tracking, activity reminders, and email sync without the weight of a sales execution suite. Its published ladder runs $14 (Essential), $29 (Advanced), $49 (Professional), $64 (Power), and $99 (Enterprise) per user per month billed annually, materially less on monthly billing equivalents in reverse. For teams that left Outreach mainly because they never used the forecasting and coaching stack, Pipedrive gives you the pipeline discipline at one-tenth the seat cost.

Switch if your real need is pipeline management and activity tracking, and you are happy to run outreach through lighter tools. Stay if sequencing, conversation intelligence, and AI-assisted deal work are the reason you bought Outreach in the first place — Pipedrive's engagement features are add-ons and lighter, and Essentials caps open deals at 3,000. At time of writing, per pipedrive.com.

Pipeliner CRM

A word of housekeeping first: Pipeliner CRM was renamed Coevera during 2026, and its pricing pages now localise by visitor location — from the UK I have seen Starter £45, Business £65, Enterprise £90, and Unlimited £115 per user per month billed annually, with older US listings in the $65–$150 range. The product itself is a visually oriented sales management platform: dynamic pipeline visualisation, strong reporting, and built-in sales analysis for mid-market teams. Where it beats Outreach is in visual pipeline management and sales performance analysis without a months-long platform rollout.

Switch if your team thinks visually, wants strong native reporting, and sits in the mid-market rather than the enterprise. Stay if you need AI-agent workflows and deep integration ecosystems — Pipeliner/Coevera is more self-contained, and the rebrand adds a small continuity question I would want answered by their account team before signing. At time of writing.

Bigin

Bigin is Zoho's lightweight pipeline CRM, and it is the budget answer to Outreach with no asterisks. There is a genuinely usable free plan (one user, 500 records), then Express at $7, Premier at $12, and Bigin 360 at $18 per user per month billed annually ($9/$15/$21 monthly), with record limits rather than seat tricks deciding your tier. You get pipelines, built-in telephony, email, and basic automations — for a small team that just needs discipline around deals and follow-ups, it is startlingly cheap and it works.

Switch if budget is the binding constraint and you want a clean pipeline CRM that a new rep learns in an afternoon. Stay if you bought Outreach for sequencing at scale, conversation intelligence, or forecasting — Bigin is a starter CRM by design, and its reporting and automation ceilings arrive quickly as you grow. At time of writing, per zoho.com/bigin/pricing.

Salesloft

Salesloft is the most direct competitor in this list: a revenue orchestration platform with cadences, a parallel dialler, conversation intelligence, and forecasting, now combined with Clari. Like Outreach it is quote-only — buyer reports cluster around $75–$100 per user per month for Essentials and $125–$150 for Advanced on annual contracts, with the dialler billed as an add-on and median contracts landing in the tens of thousands per year. The honest answer is that switching Outreach for Salesloft is rarely about money; it is about workflow preference, a specific feature such as the dialler, or a better negotiated package.

Switch if a bake-off shows Salesloft's cadence and dialling workflow fits your reps better and you can negotiate a comparable deal. Stay if your objection is price — you will be signing a similar contract shape, and migration cost is real. Note also that the Drift chat product was retired following the Clari combination.

Drift

I cannot recommend Drift as a purchase in 2026, and I would be doing you a disservice pretending otherwise. Drift was conversational marketing — website chat, bots, and meeting booking — not a sales execution suite, so it was always an odd comparison to Outreach. More importantly, Clari and Salesloft announced the sunset of Drift in March 2026 and have transitioned customers toward 1mind; drift.com/pricing is gone, and reports put the final shutdown around 31 January 2027, with existing customers keeping their current terms until their contract ends or that date. Its last widely listed price was about $2,500 per month billed annually for Premium.

Switch if — realistically, you do not switch to Drift; if conversational marketing is the job, evaluate its successor or current chat-first platforms directly. Stay if you are an existing customer with time left: plan your migration now rather than at renewal.

How to choose

Start from what you actually use in Outreach. If reps live in sequences and the dialler, Apollo.io or Close replace that core at a fraction of the seat cost; test both, because Close is communication-first while Apollo is data-first. If your answer is "the pipeline and activity discipline," Pipedrive or Bigin — the latter if budget dominates. If you want comparable enterprise depth and are negotiating anyway, Salesloft is the only true peer here, and the decision will come down to workflow fit and contract terms, not list price. GoHighLevel only makes sense for agency or marketing-heavy models. And if the rebranded Pipeliner/Coevera appeals visually, push its account team on roadmap continuity before committing. Whatever you pick, insist on a pilot with real reps before you sign anything.

FAQ

What is the cheapest real alternative to Outreach? Bigin, at $7 per user per month billed annually, with a free single-user plan to try first. Apollo.io's free tier is the cheapest way to get sequencing plus data, though credit costs add up as you scale.

Can I get Outreach-style forecasting without the enterprise price? Partially. Pipedrive Professional and Close Growth include forecasting and reporting features at $49–$99 per user per month, but deep AI forecasting, scenario planning, and rollups at Outreach's level are genuinely enterprise features — Salesloft is the comparable alternative if you need them.

Why is there no Drift section price? Drift is being sunset (announced March 2026, with reports of a 31 January 2027 end date) and is no longer sold to new customers, so its historical pricing (~$2,500/month for Premium) is only relevant to existing contracts.
